Pastoral Care
A happy atmosphere pervades the school and visitors often comment on the friendly and easy relationship which exists between staff and pupils.
All members of staff are involved in pastoral care and formal and informal arrangements allow each boy to have access to someone in whom they can put their trust and confidence.
The school has developed various initiatives relating to the Children Act, including a Personal, Social and Health Education programme (PSHE).
A nominated independent listener is available to the boarders.
The health and welfare of the boarders, and of the day boys during school hours, are under the constant supervision of the senior matron, assisted by a registered nurse and qualified assistant, and two GAP students. The school doctor visits weekly.
The school caterers provide all meals. Dining in a traditional refectory style, the boys are encouraged to eat a balanced diet with due attention to proper table manners.
