The Quiristers' Instrumental Concert followed their Sunday morning service.

All the boys learn the piano and an orchestral instrument, alongside their singing tuition. Their performances were well received and thoroughly enjoyed by their parents and peers. As always, it was a joy to hear how our Cs and Qs are progressing on their musical journeys, from the probationers who are just starting out, to the Year 8s who are tackling some rather impressive repertoire.

Huge congratulations to all the boys!

Friends who spend a lot of time together in school and in boarding could enjoy singing side by side - something they spend a large proportion of their week doing in their separate choirs, but rarely can do together. They made a fantastic sound and filled the Chapel with 33 beautiful treble voices. It was lovely to see the five Year 4 Chorister Probationers in the congregation with members of staff.

Parents mingled over refreshments in Crimea (the Chapel foyer) with Dr Essex and Dr Hands. Everyone agreed the Cs and Qs and their families should join together more often!

The Choristers, dressed in their cassocks and trainers, armed with frying pans, competed against over 30 teams in the Winchester Rotary Pancake Day Race. The relay course involved sprinting 38 metres in front of the cathedral whilst tossing a pancake at several points – easier said than done, especially in the drizzle and wind.
