Year 6 and 7 boys enjoyed time on the water at Sandbanks Watersports Academy this week.
This week was Year 3’s final Forest School session. It has been wonderful watching the boys grow in confidence, independence and resilience over the last few years.
Friday 30 June saw the Private View of the hotly-anticipated Art and D&T Exhibition in and around the school. The Octagon and Art Studio had been shrouded in mystery for much of the week, while Mr Walters and Mr Armstrong worked their magic and set up the work of their departments throughout the year for everyone to see.
Last Friday the parents were treated to our summer LAMDA showcase. This gave the boys the opportunity to share with their parents the amazing work they have done during the year.
As the leavers’ jam-packed itinerary continues, this week our Year 8s spent three days in Belgium.
This morning, both Year 3 classes entertained their parents and the rest of the Juniors with their re-telling of two famous Greek myths.
With such wonderful landscape and opportunities to explore, the South Downs National Park is right on our doorstep and is used as an example in our Year 6 studies of National Parks and environmental offsetting.
Last Tuesday, following a very busy and hectic exam week, Year 5 were taken to have some fun at Horseshoe Lake. To our luck, the pessimistic weather forecast was wrong again and the boys enjoyed Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, Raft Building and Dragon-Boat Racing in the bright sunshine.
On Monday, Year 3 were driven by Miss Akinin and Mr Bell, in the minibuses, to the Beaulieu Estate which is also home to The Countryside Education Trust.
Sometimes it is easy to overlook what lies at our doorstep, even when that something is extraordinary. Fishbourne is one of those places.
