A poem about stillness

Read a beautiful poem about Stillness, ahead of our Year 5, 6 and 7 exams next week.

Stillness

There is stillness that is quiet and calm,
There is stillness that is threatening, like the eye of a storm,
There is stillness like a new morning,
And there is stillness that is cold and bleak.

There is a stillness filled with new potential,
There is stillness that is desolate, barren and mean,
There is stillness that is peace and light,
And there is a stillness that is hope and life.

In the hustle bustle of modern life,
stillness can be hard to find.
But it is there, in the nooks and crannies
of cities and towns and suburbs.

Or in the fields and forests and quiet empty lanes
of the countryside or wilderness.
A time or place to find a centre,
to steady against an oncoming storm.

Wishing our Year 5, 6 and 7s good luck for their exams next week.
