Admissions

International applications

Families apply from all over the world to access the classic English education of The Pilgrims’ School.  We welcome the school’s diversity – it advantages everyone.

All boys joining the school must be appropriately fluent in both written and spoken English. Our teaching is fast-paced and conducted in English (with the exception of French), with a strong emphasis on written work. Older candidates may be required to submit a UKiset profile and samples of work before being invited for an assessment. We may suggest a Zoom interview, but candidates will still be required to attend a taster day with further assessments at the school, at which point they may meet with our EAL specialist.

We are able to support a limited number of Tier 4 visa applications for boys joining Year 4 and above only.

For more information about applying from overseas, please refer to our Overseas Student Policy.

Our Location

We are blessed with a truly idyllic location. Just an hour south of London by direct train, with easy access to all the major travel hubs, and yet we are surrounded by the stunning countryside of the South Downs National Park. The school is tucked away between Winchester Cathedral and Winchester College, within the secure and secluded Cathedral Close. Moments from our front door is the heart of the historic city of Winchester, or step through our back gate to find water meadows, countryside, and the South Downs Way.
