Boarders outing to the New Forest

The Boarders had a great afternoon on Sunday in the New Forest.
Split into two groups, the Year 8s started with a low ropes course (challenging their ability to get to the end as a team) and then a high ropes challenge. There were two high challenges to face; a two-storey pole to climb up and stand on as a group of three and then a 'ladder run' from one tree to another. Simultaneously, Years 4,5, 6 and 7 were taught archery with real bows and arrows, requiring them to participate to strict safety rules.
After a brief break for hot chocolate, the two groups swapped to finish the afternoon, with the Year 8s shooting arrows from longer distances. Thank you to Miss Wilkins and Miss Purcell for helping me to make this a very successful afternoon, in bright and warm sunshine.
