To be a Pilgrim, Summer Term Episode 1
The Summer Term is such an exciting time for schools. Alistair Duncan, our Second Master, explains why.
Instead of a written piece I'm pleased to take you 'behind the scenes' for a few of the many events and projects that have concluded our Lent term.
To be a Pilgrim is to contribute, Edition 10
One of my themes at Head’s Assembly on Monday at the start of this delightfully sunny week was to reflect on a very busy Lent Term and all the things that Pilgrims have done outside the classroom.
Today is Red Nose Day and Pilgrims’ turned red! Through wearing mufti (with the theme of red) and red noses, boys and staff raised money for the amazing charity, Comic Relief, founded in 1985 to drive positive change through the power of entertainment
To be a Pilgrim is to care, Edition 8

To be a Pilgrim is to colour the world, Edition 6
Wow, what a half term! Full to the brim. So much has been experienced, so much has been learnt, and so much has happened …. and we have had a few challenges too (COVID-19 and Storm Eunice today, to name but two).
Our focus in PHSE, assemblies and tutor time this week was 'Growing Together.'
To be a Pilgrim is to be Head for the Day, by Mr Farid A (Year 4)
Mr A had the wonderful opportunity to be Head for the Day on Friday 4 February, following a silent auction prize last summer. Read on to find out how he enjoyed the experience.
To be a Pilgrim is to be busy and fulfilled, Episode 3
This week the boys have been busier than ever! On top of our 'normal' routines, many exciting things have been taking place.
We encourage the boys to reflect often on their learning at Pilgrims’. In last Monday’s assembly, we noted that quite a few boys are having some sort of assessment over the coming weeks. For instance, Music and Art Scholarships are coming up, Years 5, 6 and 7 had school exams this week and lots of boys in Year 6 are having interviews with prospective senior schools over the next weeks and months.
Building on our theme “To be a Pilgrim”, you will recall we asked parents last term which adjectives best describe Pilgrims’ boys. The top three chosen by staff and parents all started with a ‘c’: curious, caring and confident.
