Finn S and Nicholas M from Year 7 represented Pilgrims' on Thursday in Weymouth, at the same venue where Ben Ainslie won his historic London 2012 Gold Medal.

Sailing together in their first ever regatta, in a fleet of 31 boats, they completed all four races in a Force 2-3 breeze, coming 19^th overall. Their achievement is an indication of how well our Wednesday sailing programme at Spinnaker Sailing Club is progressing. It appears that this regatta has given them a real taste of dinghy racing, as they are planning to continue racing together in their free time.

Thank you to Mr and Mrs Simpson and Mrs Minchinson for their support on the day. We were all able to get out on the water to watch the boys race, courtesy of Simon Hiscocks, Great Britain’s Olympic Silver medallist in Sydney! We also watched the current British Sailing Team train very close by.
