Forthcoming events

Book Week – Monday 27 February to Saturday 4 March
Writer and poet AF Harrold will visit The Pilgrims’ School on Tuesday 28 February, meeting pupils in the Pre-Prep, Junior and Senior School. We look forward to welcoming him. AF Harrold is also sending us a postcard every week, and you will be able to see these messages in the newsletter for the remainder of this term. The first one is below. A letter will be sent to parents next week with further information about AF Harrold’s visit.

One of AF Harrold’s books is also the Years 3 and 4 Book Club choice, Fizzlebert Stump: The boy who run away from the circus and joined the library.

As mentioned last week, Thursday 2 March is World Book Day, and we will celebrate by dressing-up. There is no specific theme - pupils are invited to think of a character from one of the books they love. We look forward to seeing all the creative details!

Book Club
Book Club is a way to encourage children to read titles they would not necessarily select and to discuss them in an informal setting, while enjoying delicious cakes. It is a fun way to build precious skills, and we encourage every boy to take part. The choices this half-term are:

Boys must have read the whole book to attend the relevant Cake Break, which will take place during the week starting Monday 5 February. A sign-up sheet is available in the Library.

Activities for half-term
This year, COWfest takes place on Saturday 11 February. The festival will have a hub at the ARC on Jewry Street with additional free activities offered at several venues across the city centre. This link gives an outline of the activities on offer.
