This week, the Library Book Selection celebrates both National Poetry Day and Harvest Festival.
Poetry books and books on farming, food and seasons – as well as poems on food and seasons – are placed in the Special Selection box, available for browsing while spending some quiet time in the Briggs Library.

Poet and novelist Joseph Coelho was elected Children's Laureate 2022-2024 earlier this summer. To celebrate this event we are inviting pupils to read some of his work, as well as the work of two previous Children's Laureates, also poets: Michael Rosen and Carol Ann Duffy.
A perfect selection to mark National Poetry Day 2022 and to celebrate diversity. The books chosen are the following:
For the Juniors (but can be enjoyed by all) - one book only from the following three:
If boys happen to already have another book by any of these three poets that they would like to read instead, that would also be fine. They should take it along on Cake Break day
For the Seniors only
There will be two Cake Breaks after half-term, one for Juniors and one for Seniors. We will chat about the poems we enjoyed the most. Hopefully, half-term will allow boys more time to explore the books suggested (or others by the same authors, if preferred).
