Our world of books on World Book Day

An amazing array of book characters entered the Pre-Prep on Thursday in celebration of World Book Day. We welcomed a number of Harry Potters and more unusual choices - Ghandi, Claude, and Tammylan.  There were even a few Wally watchers about in the Pre-Prep, too.

The Reception class were invited to join Year One for a very special 'Sit Down'. After listening to the story read by Mrs James, The knight who wouldn’t fight, the Year One boys proudly shared their own stories based on this story, which they have been working on for the past few weeks, linked to their topic of castles.

Earlier in the morning the Reception class drew their own self-portraits complete with a sentence about their character before playing a wonderful game of hide and seek with Wally, Wenda, Wizard Whitebeard,  Woof the Dog, a scroll, and a pair of binoculars to name just a few objects hidden around the classroom.

Such a great way to develop a love of books and a passion for learning!
