Special arrangements for applications during Coronavirus restrictions
These are very difficult times for you and for your children, and it is important to us that we support you in whatever way possible.
Entry to the school is usually by an academic and social assessment which takes place during a fun taster day at the school. As this is not currently possible, we have adapted our entry process in order to help each candidate apply for a place in the school, and we will happily work with you to help find the best solution in these unusual circumstances.
We are still able to meet with you and your son, virtually, and we are still assessing boys for the places remaining in September 2020.
Until the school reopens to visitors, we will offer a virtual, on-line entry assessment.
Joining the Pre-Prep
For younger boys joining the Reception class of our Pre-Prep, we have created a virtual playtime and chat with the Head of the Pre-Prep, Debbie Ross. For slightly older boys, joining Year 1 and Year 2, the playtime will include age appropriate tasks in English and maths. We will of course explain everything to you, and we will probably need your help, please, to work with your son online.
We will happily work with you to help find the best solution in these unusual circumstances, please contact us if you would like further information.
Joining Years 3-8
Until the school reopens to visitors, we will offer a virtual, on-line entry assessment, which will comprise some or all of the following:
- an interview with the Head and/or other key teachers
- a non verbal reasoning test (NVR)
- a CAT test
- an English test (a writing task and vocabulary recognition test)
- a maths test
We will also require your permission to contact your son’s current school for a confidential report, and we will be pleased to see your son’s recent school report, CAT scores, and UKiset profile, if applicable.
