Wellbeing Matters

It can be quite confusing when listening to people speak about wellbeing.

There are so many voices out there nowadays, and the  amount of information available can be overwhelming. Although there are basic principles that we can apply to our lives to help us look after ourselves: eating well, getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, spending time in nature and socialising with those we love; there really is not a one-size-fits-all approach.

This is also particularly true when it comes to our children. There is no handbook, no ‘how to’ guide when it comes to managing the trickier moments in their development… Sometimes we simply approach life by prayer and instinct.

Inasmuch as there is a lot of information out there, some of it can be really useful to help us gain a better understanding of mental health and wellbeing. Below is a small list of useful websites compiled by CAMHS that offer useful information and support to young people and families facing a variety of challenges.

I hope some of this information is useful.

On another note; we shall be hosting Mark Herbert, co-founder of Salt and Light Leadership Coaching, at school on Saturday, 16 March as part of our ongoing Wellbeing Matters ‘Live’ talks. He will be speaking to us about how we can develop and nurture authentic leadership qualities in our children that will stand them in good stead throughout their lives. It promises to be a very rich, informative talk, and Mark will be on hand to answer any questions afterwards.

The talk will begin at 08:30 and run through until 09:30. We hope to see as many of you there as possible on the day. A booking form will be sent out at the end of next week so that we can get an idea of numbers.

If you would like to have a look at Mark’s website, it can be found at https://www.saltlightcoaching.com/
