The boys learned about the art of Hapa Zome, also known as "leaf-dye" or "leaf bashing".
It is a Japanese art form where natural pigments from leaves and flowers are transferred onto fabric by pounding them with a hammer or other bashing tool. It's a form of eco-printing and natural dyeing. Using resources from the forest floor and learning how to pick responsibly, the boys created some wonderful symmetrical artwork.
