Year 8 Geography Fieldwork Data Collection

Year 8 were treated to some of the best weather of the month on our visit to the beaches of Swanage on Tuesday 11 October.

The sun was out, the wind was light, and everyone had brought a sunny disposition, too! The tide was equally favourable with ample safe access to the beaches we were comparing, making these the perfect conditions to collect sound empirical data; it is always easier when sheets do not blow away nor does sand get in your eyes. Inevitably, some boys discovered that the sea is wet, bags do not carry themselves and sand does in fact get into your sandwich if you put it down. Despite this, it was a very successful trip, which allowed the boys to improve their data collection skills in a more challenging environment.
