Junior Science: stag beetle find

Whilst on duty on Thursday afternoon, a few junior boys came to me with a beautiful stag beetle that they had found, shown here
These insects have become increasingly rare in recent years and are now a protected species, so we ended up having an impromptu 5-minute Science lesson. On getting home, I reported the sighting to the People's Trust for Endangered Species.

Members of Years 3 and 4 have, in their own small way, contributed to serious scientific research.
