The boys were presented with two challenges; bread and cupcakes. They started by making their bread dough, having watched Mr Leslie’s demonstration, and were masterful in their mixing and kneading. Whilst this was left to prove, they moved on to the second challenge of the day, cupcakes, and worked brilliantly in pairs to perfect their batter. Once these were under way in the oven, it was time to return to the bread dough and get creative. There were twists and swirls galore; we even had a studded croissant shape!

The boys finished off with some top-class cupcake decorating, sprinkles quite literally everywhere. They all rose to the challenge admirably and created some delicious and inspiring bakes with a bake-off style judging by Miss Taylor at the end. The boys got to enjoy their handiwork at supper and there were some very satisfied stomachs by bedtime.
