Commoners' Concert

It was a good turnout for the recent Commoners' Concert. Do come along to future events, all are welcome and booking is not required.
There is something quintessentially Pilgrims’ about a Commoner Concert. It is just so inclusive.
On Thursday this week 21 instrumentalists took to the Octagon stage to showcase their efforts so far this term. The sheer variety is what makes these concerts so fundamentally entertaining. There is all the joy of witnessing an inexperienced player making their first steps into the world of solo performance. There is bravery on show from those more experienced players in the older years who, regardless of numerous ensemble appearances have hitherto managed to skirt a solo performance, but have realised that the time has come to take the plunge (before it is too late to do so in this safe and supportive forum).
With the steadying influence of Mr du Plessis’ accompaniment, there was a string of 21 successful performances, each of which really did delight the audience. This is such a precious opportunity for Pilgrims’ musicians; I hope that the audience on Thursday were aware of the role they play in these events. If you would like to witness one of these concerts, please add the next date to your diary and join us.
