Great Athletes Day

On Thursday we were honoured to welcome Nerys Pearce to school, a hugely successful athlete and former British Army medic.
The day began with Nerys leading circuits at Winchester College Sports Centre, before joining us in assembly. From the moment she spoke, the whole school was captivated - boys laughing one minute, listening in awe the next.
Nerys shared her powerful story of resilience: how an accident in 2008 changed her life forever, and how she found the strength to rebuild her life. She spoke of her love for skiing, once fearing she might never reach the top of a mountain again. Yet not only did she return to the slopes, she went on to win medals across multiple sports at the Commonwealth Games and Invictus Games.
Her visit brought that same positive spirit into Pilgrims’ Hall. She encouraged the boys to challenge themselves, support one another, and never lose sight of what is possible with determination and courage.
It was a day of inspiration, motivation, and reflection—one that will stay with our boys for a long time. The event raised money for Children in Need. Thank you for all your donations!
