Pilgrims' Parley - Saturday 31 January

With the genie out of the bottle what does AI mean for teachers, parents and our children?
It was a great pleasure to hold another Pilgrims' Parley on Saturday. Addressing the most recent implications for schools stemming from the development of AI and its impact on both learning and the workplace, we were joined by senior leaders from Winchester College, Sevenoaks School, Lancing College, Charterhouse and Churcher's College. As ever, it was a joy - and highly stimulating - to be leading the discourse around such key topics.

Insights and views abounded around what AI currently means for:
- assessments of learning
- the importance of paper and pen
- 'human' skills and character education
- the setting and completion of homework
- the lead-in to university and then the workplace
- means of teaching and learning
A link to the recording of the Parley can be found here: Pilgrims' Parley 31-Jan.
We would warmly encourage anyone not able to attend in person to put aside a little time to give it a watch - or perhaps run the audio as a 'podcast' while on a drive or a run!
Our next Parley – for parents of boys of all dispositions – addresses the question: 'What is the role of competitive sport in shaping modern boys – and are we getting the balance right?' The discussion will touch on not just the obvious but also on matters such as boys' body image and mental health when it comes to sport and fitness.
To be held on Saturday 28th February at 9am, we will be joined by the Directors of Sport from Eton and Bedales, the Headmaster of Sherborne Boys, and the Deputy Head Co-Curricular from Tonbridge. We very much hope you will be able to come and join us!
