Music is Magic!

Last Saturday night, teachers, staff and boys were glued to some classic primetime Saturday night TV to see former Pilgrim Rafferty appear on the hugely popular Britain’s Got Talent show.
Rafferty, who turned 17 this week, was a chorister at Pilgrims' and is now studying Music and Acting at Peter Symonds College in Winchester, where he continues to develop his passion for performance. In his BGT audition, Rafferty combined his two greatest passions, magic and music, in a unique and exciting act which gained him the coveted golden buzzer. If you missed the show, you can stream it here: Britain's Got Talent - Series 19 - Episode 2 - ITVX but don't tell the boarders. Mr Jennings says he's lost count of the number of times they have watched it already!
We'd love it if The Pilgrims' School community could get behind Rafferty's next BGT live semi-final act, which will take place on one Saturday evening between 26 April - 24 May (date TBC). Voting will take place on the night of the performance, and it goes without saying we wish Rafferty all the very best. His parents have said we can share his Instagram with you if you wish to follow his journey: instagram.com/raffertycoope and we hope to welcome Rafferty into school soon to meet his new (and no doubt his old) fan club.
Also, Rafferty is currently performing as Jean Valjean in a Footlights Youth production of Les Misérables at the Berry Theatre in Eastleigh, running from March 4 to 7. For tickets, go to thepointeastleigh.co.uk. He would love to see you there.
