Year 5 Poetry in practice

See this lovely display of 5Y's poetry, captured with images of the Forest to accompany them.
5Y have been studying ‘Wolf Brother’ by Michelle Paver this term. We have analysed the setting of the forest and completed various tasks related to forests and wolves. Our focus has been on developing sensory language and interesting synonyms. The boys have looked at contrasting pictures of ‘bright’ and ‘eerie’ forests and built banks of vocabulary/phrases for each picture, which they have turned into descriptive poems, showing contrasting atmospheres. Happy reading!
