IAPS U13 Sailing

Rory and Orson travelled to the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy yesterday (Thursday) to participate in the IAPS U13 Sailing Regatta.

They have both sailed at this venue before, albeit not in RS Zests. The wind was gusty and forecast to build through the day. Once the fleet had departed, it was not long before a steady steam of retirees came ashore, overwhelmed by the conditions. The boys sailed well, capsizing shortly before the end of the second race to put paid to higher placed finish. Sadly, the boys then had to leave to get back to school for a competing commitment. It's a great shame, as they were certainly equal to the conditions and growing in confidence as the afternoon went on.

Very well done, boys!

The U11 Regatta on Wednesday had to be postponed due to bad weather, and we are hoping for a re-scheduled date soon. It's such a great experience for the boys to compete against other schools at the world-class sailing venue in Dorset.
