What do you get when you combine lots of little boys wearing Christmas jumpers, a tree festooned with baubles and crackers at every place setting?
It is important for children to see art and design in the wider world and to learn about exciting careers and opportunities.
Scout camps give the boys extra time to bond as a pack, learn new skills and enjoy the outdoors.
Congratulations to chess club member Rupert, who came away with the silverware from his very first chess tournament.
James Womersley, ex-Headmaster of Beaudesert Park in Gloucestershire, has been in school this week giving our Year 6 boys helpful interview practice ahead of the interview season in the spring.
In true Cub tradition, everyone was prepared for Wednesday night's Cub session. The boys were going to earn their Navigator Staged Award with a scavenger hunt around the Christmas Market, picking up some festive treats along the way.
Following the end of their exams, Mr Burton gave a presentation to Year 8 to inspire future entrepreneurs, based on his own recent experience of setting up a new company.
Pilgrims' Parents v Western School Parents 2-5
The new fixture on the list this season posed an unknown quantity. Alarm bells should have rung when prior to the match the opposition stated they practise twice a week.
The match started well for Pilgrims' with an early lead via an Alex Gulliford header from a corner. Western’s preparation started to show and their short passing game had Pilgrims' chasing the ball in midfield. Two goals were conceded in the first half. The second half was a similar affair, Pilgrims' struggled to string passes together and create chances. Three further goals were conceded before an excellent consolation goal from Maxim Crewe. A humorous moment was a rugby tackle from David Hartwright on the Western captain; David harking back to his rugby roots was made all the more amusing when their captain confessed that he had undergone surgery under David’s care a few months before!

I'm almost tempted to deliver this write-up as before and after images...Picture one: Cubs lolling on the floor, hidden behind taller boys, out of shot and generally looking less than shipshape. Picture two: perfect salutes, all 18 faces visible, and straight backs. Welcome to the world of the professional leader.
