Celebrating 95 Years of The Pilgrims' School

Last Saturday we welcomed alumni, their families, and friends back to celebrate a very special milestone – 95 years of Pilgrims'.

The afternoon brought together Old Pilgrims of all ages, many returning for the first time in years. It was a chance to reconnect and revisit familiar surroundings. Guests arrived via the riverside entrance, with many pausing on the bridge to take in the idyllic view, unchanged in decades.

A group of Year 8s proudly acted as tour guides, offering a nostalgic journey through classrooms and corridors, sparking memories and lively conversation. In the River Garden, alumni enjoyed browsing old school photos and magazines while current Pilgrims provided a warm welcome with delicious scones (made by Chef Sue), Pimm's and live music from the Jazz Band and soloists.

Then came cricket on Wolvesey, where alumni, current parents and boys took to our stunning pitches for a series of friendly matches. Whether playing for their set or cheering from the boundary, there was a wonderful sense of community and shared tradition.

Later, a number of (age appropriate!) Old Pilgrims gathered at The Wykeham Arms, rounding off the day with OP Tim Butcher.

It was a fitting way to celebrate 95 years of The Pilgrims’ School – honouring the past, celebrating the present, and strengthening the connections that make the Pilgrims’ community so special.

We look forward to welcoming our alumni back to the next event and, of course, looking ahead to our centenary.

Alumni Officer
