Set Quiz 2026 gets off the ground

On Wednesday afternoon, the Set Quiz for 2026 was underway. The first match was incredibly closely fought. Mr Duncan reports...
At the half-way stage, Wrens had a 10-point advantage over Normans and the second half was similarly closely fought; at the end of the game, everyone waited with bated breath for the result. Normans squeaked home 200 to 180. The second game, between Saxons and the Romans, was similarly close at half-time, though Saxons managed to pull away in the second half for a reasonably comfortable victory of 210 to 160. Still, two great games to get the competition underway.
Our next game, Monks vs Normans is on Saturday after the inter-set rugby at 1530.
Do remember that parents of competitors (or indeed any other parents) are welcome to watch; the boys love it when we have a crowd and one of the things that made the Wrens/Normans game so exciting on Wednesday was that they played to a reasonable crowd.
If you have 20 minutes spare on Saturday at 1530 and would like to find out more, do feel free to pop your head into the Octagon to find out what’s going on……
