Twilight Talk review, Wednesday 14 January

On Wednesday evening, the boys had a wonderful opportunity to hear Mrs Lorna Hackett speak about Justice and Civil Rights.

Mrs Hackett, who was called to the Bar in 2003, is a high-profile civil rights barrister. She is dedicated to representing the most vulnerable in society and is passionate about achieving fairness and equality for all. She is a highly accomplished public lawyer and an expert in prisoners’ rights and parole advocacy.

She presented a very sensitively pitched talk to our boys about what her work as a barrister entails. They asked a number of very insightful questions of her, and were particularly interested in what some of her most memorable cases have been. She is currently instructed in the UK Covid 19 Inquiry, which has attracted much public interest.

We are very grateful to her for sharing her expertise with our boys, and for making the talk so interesting and accessible.
