Friday 9 September

From Mrs Ross

What an eventful two days back at school.  It has been wonderful to feel our school come alive again, with the happy buzz of teaching and learning both inside and outside the classrooms.  Our Pre-Prep Pilgrims', new and old, have settled quickly into the routines of their new classrooms and teachers.  As always, it is a privilege to be part of your boys' learning journey from the very beginning.

Today has included thoughtful discussion and prayers for our Late Queen and our new King.  The Pre-Prep were proud to be part of the Union Flag raising-ceremony with the whole school today.  We also lit our Pre-Prep candle for Queen Elizabeth II and her family in our Assembly this afternoon.

Year 2

It is so wonderful to have a classroom full of eager young boys ready for this new year of school. We have spent the past two days starting to get to know each other and having a lot of fun. I certainly think so. I think the boys do too. I have been very impressed with the boys' teamwork and collaboration already. From selfie portraits and maths games to thoughts and ideas about our late Queen, the boys have been engaged and full of interest. I am very much looking forward to what this term will bring.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions you may have at this early stage.

Mrs Ford

Year 1

Welcome back to all Year 1 families. It has been lovely to see you all and welcome you back into school and Year 1.

The boys have come into class beautifully, so grown up. They have settled quickly and confidently, and I have been very impressed by their readiness to listen and learn.

We have had these few days of getting to know each other, finding out where things live in our classroom, learning new routines and having fun together.

We have also had chats about the very sad time the country is experiencing with the loss of Queen Elizabeth and joined the rest of the school in marking this sad occasion.

Well done on your brilliant start to Year 1, boys. I look forward to our first full week of school together.

Reception

Reception boys had a wonderfully busy first day at school.  We enjoyed learning about the German tradition of giving children a 'schultute' (School Cone) on their first day at school.

Mrs Walker enjoyed taking the new Reception Class on a wet, woodland walk to our new log circle.
