Pilgrims' cross-country achievements
Congratulations to Mr Cleaver and the Cross-Country runners!
We have had a bumper week of cross-country fixtures. On Friday 27 January, we took teams from Years 3 – 8 to Eagle House in another first for Pilgrims’. The field was strong, and the course was tough, including the infamous 'killer hill'. Our boys represented themselves well, and it was a pleasure to give some pupils in the younger years some race experience.
Stand out performances were:
- George B: 5th in the Year 3 race
- Patrick B: 11th in the Year 5 race
- Fraser N: 9th in the Year 7 race
And it was an absolutely outstanding performance from Seb N romping into a wide lead for 1st place in the Year 8 race.
On Tuesday 31 January, Pilgrims’ entered into the Year7 and 8 Eastleigh and Winchester District trials competing against many state schools from Romsey, Hamble, Eastleigh, and Winchester. We were the only independent Prep School represented, and I am delighted to share that all of our Year 7 boys qualified for the Hampshire Schools' County Championships with all Pilgrims’ finishing in the top twenty.
In the Year 8 race Seb N cruised into an easy win against a high calibre field. Other boys all finished inside the top thirty with Toby L narrowly missing out on selection, finishing 22nd.
